John King, CNN: As you know, your ex-wife gave an interview to ABC News…in it she said that you came to her in 1999, at a time when you were having an affair; she says you asked her to enter into an open marriage. Would you like to take some time to respond to that?

Jon Stewart: What comes next, ladies and gentlemen, is the moment when values voters’ supposed disgust over the moral turpitude of those in American public life is knocked out cold by their anger at the right’s supposed victimisation by the media.

Newt Gingrich: No, but I will…I am appalled that you would begin a presidential debate on a topic like that…I think the destructive, vicious, negative nature of much of the news media makes it harder to govern this country…To take an ex-wife and make it, two days before a primary, a significant question of the presidential campaign is as close to despicable as anything I can imagine.

Jon Stewart: As close to despicable as you can imagine?! You imagined your wife, while she was dealing with having MS, would be open to you having sex with another lady who you’d already been having sex with for 6 fucking years! I think you’ve got a pretty good imagination despicability-wise. 

Oh my god! John King is going to crush this guy. All he’s got to do is point out the hypocrisy of a family values crusader who presided over Congress at the time of the Republicans’ Clinton penis scavenger hunt, suddenly finding that kind of questioning of a presidential candidate unseemly; point out the hypocrisy of a man who insists that gay people would sully the sanctity of marriage whilst being a career marriage sanctity sullier.
